To all you moms about there with PPD (postpartum depression), I share your pain. I know the feeling of exhaustion, hopelessness, anxiety and depression. Basically, I’m a single mom from Decatur, Texas; ten pups from one of those arranged relationships that I knew from the beginning was not likely to work out. Think of 10 puppies crammed into my svelte little tummy and I heroically gave birth to and nursed each one. But here’s the deal: the entire litter was sold out before birth at $800 a puppy. That is, my precious litter went for a total of $8,000. And what exactly did I get out this? My belly sliced open by a horse doctor in Decatur and then shuffled off to live with a geezer couple and an aging lab in suburban Texas. I know what depression is.
