Pedigrees and a crisis at 5PM (Jewels)

As everyone knows 5 pm is the absolutely, positively most important time of each day (that’s when Roderick and I get fed).  So there were some serious concerns the other day when 5 pm approached and the Mom was totally clued to the computer monitor looking at scans of parish records for some distance German ancestors of shirt tail relatives who apparently had gone MIA in French speaking Switzerland sometime in the 19 century.

I finally figured out it has something to do with family history – a pedigree. I have a pedigree too, an official one certified by the American Kennel Club - AKC – DNA21367301. This is important. With this pedigree everyone will know that my pups and my pups’ pups will be drop-dead, knock-out gorgeous just like me.  The family here at the little house on the mound are nice and all, but look at them. I just don’t see the point of the pedigree.
