Museum of Science (and Children's Museum) at Fair Park in Dallas

Via DART we went to Fair Park in Dallas,  277 acre home of the State Fair, the Cotton Bowl, and lots of old buildings in 1930's Art Deco architecture and also the location of the Museum of Science, which includes a Children's Museum. Some pictures:

This is in front of the reflection pool on the grounds. This was originally built in 1936 in connection with the Texas Centennial Exposition (as I mentioned, Texans have always like to build BIG things)

Caleb in front of one of 1930s murals at the entry to one of the original exposition buildings (now an automobile museum)

This is in the children's museum. Caleb and Annika measuring dinosaur bones they excavated

Firemen (don't all firemen just hate tangled suspenders)

This is the back story to the next three pictures. Annika, while playing in the fire engine, saw the little house exhibit, with its kitchen and a baby sitting at the table. She immediately ran over (dressed in her fire fighting gear) and began preparing dinner. She pulled out dishes, utensils and various items of food from various drawers until the table was set and food on each plate, and then ran out into larger hall and yelled (loudly) to pretty much everyone: "TIME FOR DINNER. CALEB AND DADDY, TIME FOR DINNER. Then she finally took off the firefighter gear and served dinner.
