Not camping with Andy and Grandpa Mike

With rain, cold winds and snow (falling and forecast) and with a 2 year old and a 4 year old, Andy and Grandpa Mike figured out that the carefully planned camping trip to the Grand Staircase National Monument in southern Utah may need to wait for another time.

So what to do on a rainy day in Park City after a morning of playing inside? A trip to the city and the Discovery childrens' museum.

And since the weather cleared up for a beautiful Park City evening, followed by a BBQ (actually hot dogs and s'mores).

Lots of fresh odors and space to run (fast), this is Miley's kind of country

The next day (Saturday) was beautiful, warranting a bus trip to the city park in downtown Park City.

This is Caleb looking out for the bus. As everyone knows, you take the pink line from Pinebrook to downtown Park City, which was exciting for Annika, since she's into pink right now (but I'll leave to someone else to explain to Annika why it is that the buses on the pink line are in fact not pink).

This is the "shoe tree" on the trail from the Park City bus station down to the park.

End of a long day

Following Grandpa Mike's longstanding tradition of going to the Tabernacle choir broadcast (especially if from the Tabernacle), a trip to Temple Square Sunday morning. You have to be eight to attend. So Andy, Caleb and Annika watched from an overflow room in the visitors center. This was taken after the broadcast during the choir rehearsal afterwards.

With some time to kill before taking Grandpa Mike to the airport, we checked out Trax (a round trip ride through the free zone) and then, owing nothing to Grandpa Mike's affinity to museums and for no reason other that its proximity to where the car was parked, we ended up in the Church History Museum, which turned out to be the place to be if you're a kid on a rainy Sunday morning.

There was, of course, an outstanding collection of quilts, but also a huge magnetic board for trying out your quilt designs and practicing your stitches.

Visualize a children museum style kitchen with a Latino/missionary theme (No question that this young lady knows her way around a kitchen)
