Hola. Thanks for all the letters I've been getting. Let's see, what has been going on here at the CCM. Umm...Well, half the time the MTC is making me not like food. Seriously. Two weeks in and our stomaches are STILL constanly making noises. The spanish is coming. Slowly. But coming. I really like the way our teachers teach, instead of doing strictly spanish or strictly gospel, they intertwine the two. And our teachers always remind us WHY we are learing the language and how learning a certain grammar prinicple will help us teach better- therefore we're learing to prech the gospel and not learning for our own gain...with the idea that that will help us learn faster if we remember why we are learning it. I saw Shannon the other day. I was sitting in the hall with and i saw this teacher walkind down checking all the classrooms and I thought to myself, "she looks really familiar" then i realized it was shannon. and we waved at eachother. Haha. I also saw Christian Pratt the other day at Dinner. That was pretty cool. So last thursday was probably the first REALLY hard day. Because I was sick. And i took this medicine that the health center gave me (which, i had to walk to the BYU Health Center to get...it was exciting...we saw real people. and real outside influences like the Daily Universe). Anyway, i took this medicine that makes you super sleepy. But i was also congested. Hello, Sudafed? Bingo. So i also took sudafed. NEVER TAKE SUDAFED WITH THAT OTHER STUFF I GOT. I'm pretty sure I was like over-dosed on something. My stomache was killing me. I felt like I was going to throw up like all day. NO BUENO. But then, Friday was a new a day I felt a lot better. I still have this congestedness, but for the most part I'm better. So I love my District a lot. But I think we love eachother a little too much, because sometimes its really hard for us focus during LST and MDT. But we're working on it. Let's see...something spiritual. Umm...well there's a lot of that around here. It's hard to pick. We had this devotional last night and I sang in the MTC Choir and we sang this song called "Precious Savior, Dear Redeemer" IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. And then the Devotional was AWESOME. Elder Jensen from the Seventy spoke about the Book of Mormon and told us this story about an egyptian scholar who translated the Book of Mormon into Arabric (sp?). And how it's really cool because Arabric is a semantic language, and the Book of Mormon comes from a semantic language. Anyway while translating, this guy realized that based on the semantics in the Book of Mormon, there is no way Joseph Smith could've made it up.Let alone translate something like the B.O.M. in 85 days. Cool huh. Hopefully that made sense. I only have a very limited time to email. So everything is kinda choppy. Sounds like the Olympics are cool. you should buy the highlights off of NBC for me to watch when i get home. Haha. One question, I heard someone died bobsledding?!? And that it was on Live TV?!?!?!?!? CRAZINESS! And Sad. Luckily there is the Plan of Salvation however. Thanks for flip-flops and blog updates, and all the news on life at home. I miss you all. And glad to know that Roderick still sleeps in my room. Does he miss Morriss? So what's the latest on the other FM1 guys on missions? Anyway, I probably should go. love you all. Read and pray about the Book of Mormon. It's true. PURA VIDA! Love, Elder Hyer. PS- If you love me, You will send more awesome ties. I've run out of individuality.
